The MCC Wolves faced cross-state Region 16 rival, St. Louis CC, in a four-game series.
Game 1
The Archers struck first, plating three runs in the opening inning. The Wolves' bats came alive in the fourth, as MCC scored four runs to take the lead. They added three more in the fifth to extend the advantage to 7-3. However, the Wolves saw their lead slip away after allowing five runs in the sixth inning. That rally proved to be the difference, as MCC fell 8-7.
Game 2
MCC flipped the script in game two, getting on the board first with a six-run second inning. The Wolves added two more runs in the third to build their lead. After both teams traded runs, MCC maintained control with a 12-3 advantage. The Archers attempted a comeback with five additional runs, but it wasn't enough, as the Wolves secured a 12-8 victory.
Game 3
The Archers opened the scoring with a run in the second inning, but MCC responded in the bottom half with an RBI single from Carter Belton. St. Louis regained the lead with a run in the third. The Wolves battled back in the sixth, tying the game on an RBI from Luke Meredith. In the seventh, with two runners on, Barrett Jones delivered a game-winning single to lift MCC to a 3-2 win.
Game 4
MCC again set the tone early, scoring first on an RBI single from Chase Phillips. The Wolves added to their lead in the fourth with productive outs, as Brandon Moore and Phillips each recorded RBI groundouts. Eden Myers extended the lead with an RBI single in the fifth. The Archers got on the board in the sixth, but MCC put the game away with a three-run seventh inning, highlighted by an RBI double from Moore.
The Wovles close out their regular season home schedule against North Central Missouri College on April 16th.
