The MCC Wolves hosted State Fair Community College in a key Region 16 matchup. The Roadrunners entered the game 1-0 in region play after a win over East Central, while the Wolves came in at 1-1 following a 3-0 victory against St. Charles Community College.
The first half was evenly contested, with both sides creating scoring opportunities. Late in the half, State Fair broke through with a header off a corner kick, taking a 1-0 lead into halftime.
MCC responded in the second half, as Colten Parsons found the back of the net to level the match at 1-1. The game remained tied until the final minutes, when State Fair scored with under 10 minutes remaining. That late goal proved to be the difference, as the Wolves fell 2-1.
