2021 Spring Season Recap
After a COVID-19 shortened 2020 softball season, the 2021 Wolves were back on the field in 2021. Offense was the strength of the team, mashing 49 homeruns, as the Wolves finished 12-32 (5-19 Region XVI). A wild 21-19 win over Allen Community College was a preview for the season – a high scoring, back and forth contest with offense leading the way.
A four-game win streak in March got the Wolves to within one game of .500 before starting Region XVI play. Three Rivers College, the eventual Region XVI tournament and District J champion, ended the win streak, and started the Wolves 11-game losing streak to open Region XVI play. The streak ended with a 5-4 win over North Central Missouri College (NCMC). The second half of the regional play saw the Wolves split with State Fair Community College, NCMC, and sweep Jefferson College. The 5-1 win over NCMC, who was ranked #17 in the nation at the time, and the sweep of Jefferson came against the number one and number two ranked pitchers in the NCJCAA Division I for strikeouts
