The MCC Wolves hosted State Fair Community College for a midweek Region 16 clash. The Roadrunners entered the match on a hot streak, having won five of their last six games, including a three-game winning streak. The Wolves, meanwhile, were coming off a victory against St. Louis Community College.
MCC started strong in the first half, jumping out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Juliana Highfill and Alyssa Guadagnano. Early in the second half, the Wolves were awarded a penalty kick, which Ariana Perez calmly converted to extend the lead to 3-0.
The MCC defense held firm for the remainder of the match, keeping the Roadrunners off the scoreboard to secure the clean sheet.
The Wolves return to action at home on Tuesday, October 7 at 2 p.m. when they take on Mineral Area College.
