The bottom of the Wolves lineup proved to be hard to handle for the Roadrunners in Game 1. Laiken Buell, Josie Adams, and Allison Shipp combined for six of the team's 11 hits in the 9-7 victory.
All the runs for the Wolves came in the first three innings. The scoring started with a Daelyn Williams double that scored Alahna Wilson. In the bottom of the second inning the Wolves put up seven runs on four hits from Shipp, Adams, Buell, and Wilson.
Payton Smith earned the win for the Wolves, going five and two-thirds innings, giving up 10 hits and walking three. Madison Stansbury appeared in relief. She surrendered two hits, walked one, and struck out two.
In Game 2, the Wolves got down early, giving up six runs in the first inning. While they would battle back, they fell by the score of 12-8.
Alahna Wilson was a perfect four for four with three stole bases to lead the Wolves. Kaydence Enos also had two hits. Daelyn Williams, Jada Gilliland, and Enos each drove in two runs.
The Wolves are back in action Thursday at Mineral Area.
